The Flute Faculty at the UIC School of Theater and Music is proud to present an inaugural virtual Flute Day on Saturday, April 10 from 3:00 to 5:30 pm. Internationally acclaimed flutist, conductor, and Yale University Flute Professor, Ransom Wilson, will be our special guest in a masterclass titled La Belle Flûte.

 

The UIC Flute day will offer an afternoon filled with inspiring ideas about teaching, playing, and practicing the flute. All warm up sessions, technique classes, expert presentations, and Q&As sessions will be free and open to the public.

 

Flute students of all skill levels, music educators, and flute enthusiasts are welcome to join. All activities will be interactive, so plan to bring your flute to partake in an exciting and revitalizing virtual flute event.

The Department of Performance Studies at Texas A&M University presented Patricia George’s famous FLUTE SPA on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 9:00 to 5:00 in the new Liberal Arts and Humanities Building.  Internationally acclaimed flute pedagogue, performer, columnist and editor of Flute Talk magazine, Patricia George, offered a day-long workshop packed with inspiring ideas about teaching, playing and practicing the flute. Flute teachers, band directors and flute students of all levels participated in this interactive and revitalizing flute event.
